Armando: A Success Story
Armando is a 13-years old, 8th grader who attends the after school program at the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club. Mando is one of eleven children in a single-parent household. In the past, Mando never listened and always wanted to do what he wanted. He would avoid being part of the group and was often times a hot-head.
We have seen a big change in Mando; he is no longer a hot-head. Also, when his friends get involved in something they shouldn’t be doing, he doesn’t follow. Honestly, Armando is quite fast and could be Most Valuable Player in football. He is also an incredible basketball player and he can hit the baseball across our entire field. I think he could become a professional in football, basketball or baseball given the opportunity.
Mando is currently receiving very good grades in school and could use some help and guidance in pursuing college. He is an all around Boys & Girls Club member who is doing his best to be successful socially, academically and athletically.
