Programs
The Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club offers after school and leisure time programs for young people from Lincoln Heights, El Sereno, Cypress Park, Boyle Heights, Elysian Park and other surrounding communities.  Children and teens from other areas of Los Angeles may also become a member of the Club.  Programs are offered to children and teens ages 7-17 years of age from 2:30 until 7:00 pm after school and from 7:00 AM to 6:00 pm on holidays and during summer vacation. Programs include:
 
The Learning Center -Project LEARN
A learning enhancement program designed for children 7-13 years of age.  The program includes activities to encourage enthusiasm for learning academics and reading for fun. The Center includes reading club, arts and crafts, homework assistance, and tutoring and educational field trips.
 
Leaders In Training
A leadership development program geared to enhance the leadership skills of middle and high school teens ages 13-17.  Members sign up to be part of the LIT program, volunteering and participating in daily educational activities, field trips, computer classes, recreational activities and community events.
 
LA Bridges
A gang prevention program conducted in a case management manner for high risk youth in middle school 10-14 years of age.  Members are referred from the surrounding middle school and Nightingale Middle School in particular.  Programs include mentoring, family counseling, social services, after school tutoring and homework assistance.
 
Fine Arts
A fine arts program including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics and photography is offered for all grade levels.  The arts education is offered daily after school to members of the Boys & Girls Club at each location.  Children and teens participate in organized arts classes that revolve around a theme which includes projects and educational field trips.
 
Social Recreation
The games room offers a variety of table games where kids  “learn while playing”.  Tournaments teach children and teens the value of good sportsmanship.  The games rooms is a positive place for children to interact
 
Sports and Swimming
The Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club offers a full athletic program including basketball, soccer, baseball, volley ball, swimming, and hockey and other sports.  Leagues are organized according to the sports season and run through the calendar year.  All sports include teams for boys and girls and for each age group. All club members are encouraged to participate in the sports and recreation program.
 
William Mead Boys & Girls Club
A full after school program including homework assistance, tutoring, sports and recreation, arts and crafts, music and William Mead Housing Project.  This program is offered daily from 2:45 pm until 7:00 pm and includes arts, games, sports leagues, homework assistance, and tutoring and computer education.
